A joyous exhibition

Photography is more than capturing moments; it’s about connecting with people and celebrating their lives. Anjan Ghosh, a photographer deeply passionate about storytelling, turned this belief into a heartwarming initiative in a local slum area. During his visits to photograph the community, residents often asked how they could see their pictures. Realizing many had never owned a photograph of themselves, Anjan decided to create a unique and joyful experience for them. He printed their portraits and organized a vibrant exhibition right in the heart of the slum, transforming their surroundings into a gallery of cherished moments. The event was an emotional celebration. For many, it was the first time seeing their own image captured so beautifully. Children laughed and pointed at their pictures, while adults gazed at their portraits with pride and wonder. The exhibition didn’t just display photographs; it honored the resilience, emotions, and stories of the community His initiative brought smiles, joy, and a sense of recognition to the people, creating a lasting impact. For him, seeing their happiness was the ultimate reward, reaffirming the power of photography as a tool for connection, empowerment, and spreading joy where it’s needed most.
